Anyone who knows me, knows I very rarely let my nails go naked.  I love that pop of color – how “polished” I feel when I apply a new color and how it does a lot to accent an outfit. Still, I also find myself consistently disappointed with how long a color lasts, oftentimes having to change the polish once every few days or so.  When I tried the limited edition colors (Voile and Gossamer) Jin Soon provided (and exclusive to Space NK – check out more on those two here), I wasn’t disappointed.  Not only do they last much longer, they are also beautiful, complimentary colors.

Via her website, Jin Soon Choi is one of the most influential nail artists in the industry.  Her roster of clientele is impressive, as is the press surrounding her work.  Thus, only natural that she would launch her own nail polish line in 2012.

According to her press release she launched this line because she was “Inspired by her work with leading designers, photographers, models, and editors, she understood that nail color has become the ultimate accessory in the world of celebrity and high fashion. For years, she has been at the forefront of these industries, with her distinctive style and artistry gracing the pages of magazines as well as campaigns for high-end fashion houses.”

Naturally, I wanted to know more about the woman behind the line, her inspiration and the line itself.

1. What inspired you to start a polish line?Women are very connected to fashion and aspire to the trends they see on runways and in magazines. JINsoon will enable them to be a part of this world, making them feel confident, glamorous, and sexy
2. How do they differ from other polish lines? The polish collection features a double patented formula that delivers a long-lasting manicure with rich and lustrous color payoff in a single coat. The formula is also 5-Free and was created without toxic chemicals such as formaldehyde, toluene, DPB, and camphor. The polishes do contain high-tech polymers and resins ensuring longer wear and an extended shelf life. UV filters in each polish protect against fading and yellowing of color.
3. How many colors are in the line? The JINsoon line currently has about 20 shades (6 in Quintessential, 6 in Fall/Winter A La Mode, 5 in Botanical Flowers, 2 in JINsoon x Space NK, plus one top coat and one base coat)
